If I sneeze one more time...people will die!
Despite feeling like I was going to sneeze myself to death, (damn all this pollen to hell!) this weekend was rather productive.  Hubbie and I managed to get our back porch cleaned and organized.  The summer BBQ season has officially begun.  Yay!  And I even managed to get some work done on Crimson Spell smut^^ Which brings me to some other news the kat has to share.  I have joined the staff of Fushichou ~The Fire Within~ manga scantilation group as a proofreader.  I'm so excited about being part of the wonderful world of yaoi manga.  So, if you should download a Fushichou manga and see the name, Vixtress (my IRC alter ego) in the credits, then you know I had my little paws on it.   Yay!  I must spread the yaoi love far and wide.  ^___^

And now I'm an enabler to your laziness! You know I'm only doing this to see the goods long before everyone else, right? ^__^

It was a beautiful weekend, wasn't it? I was busy too, and now I am trying to catch up on lj... I read your post about seeing the car accident. *cringe* People are such idiots when they drive. I think they forget they are in control of a lethal weapon.
Ah... Crimson Spell smut. Mmmmm. I am looking forward to reading it! (as if you didn't know that already. *grin*)
*raises glass*
Cheers to summer BBQ season!

If only I could write it faster...Ruruka's screaming in my head to get it done already ;)

Cheers to you as well!

I do envy your productiveness! Mildly, of course, since I've been so lazy myself, lol. Our BBQ weekend began here, too! We did chicken. I'd rather have done brats, but now we have all summer to grill!

Ah, if only the actual managa publishers had dedicated proofreaders working for them, sigh. I swear every time I pick up something from VIZ I want to start bitch-slapping their editors.

But you get to work on yaoi scanslations! Yay! Now you can give us your professional suggestions of what to check out, or what to avoid.

UGH...it takes forever for the US publishers to get anything out. Thank god for the scantilation groups^^ The only bad part is that if one of the mangas they're working on gets licensed, then they drop the project. There have been a number of series that I was very attatched to that I now have to wait damn near a year for the US publishers to get their asses in gear and release. Hero Heel *weeps* the last release from the scan group leaves in on somewhat of a cliffy and it won't be available here until November *Cries*

If you want recs, I've got tons^^

Of course! You got me into ViewFinder, and Innocent Bird!

I don't have an IRC account, but I'll surely keep a running list of what you might suggest! :)

Well, anything by Yamano Ayane (mangaka for Viewfinder) is awesome. IRC is really the best way to get the mangas. Some sites do offer direct downloads, but not all. Check out the LJ, Tokudane. The show all the new updates for all the groups. There are links to all the sites and the occasional direct download. But here is Evilkat's must read list:

1. Viewfinder (which you already have)
2. Innocent Bird (again, already have)
3. Haru wo Daieita (Licensed in US as Embracing Love)
4. Love Mode (also licensed)
5. Crimson Spell (being scanned by Nakama and a Yamano^^)
6. Hero Heel (recently licensed, but was scanned by Countless Time)
7. Under Grand Hotel (scanned by Nakama)
8. Okane Gai Nai (scanned by Forever More)
9. Cut (scanned by Mochi Mochi)
10. Neji No Kaiten (scanned by Nakama)

I could seriously go on and on...there are so many that I love. Now, the ones that have been released here are still be available on IRC (in some places) Yet another reason to look into it....free is always a good thing^^ But those 10 should get you started and are some of my favs.

I've been trying to find Haru Wo Daiteita on DVD - subbed. There are so many AMVs on the series so I thought it must be out somewhere. I was tempted to get the manga (Embracing Love) but I think I'd like to watch the anime on that one, and waiting for the volume releases is agony.

I have tried to figure out the IRC thing, to no avail. When I manage getting on, I have no clue what I'm looking at. I feel like I have to be an IT graduate just to understand the "how to" instructions. Yikes, it's a sign that technology is passing me by. :( <--- still doesn't even own a cell phone!

Ah, well I will try to keep an eye out for these recs, though! Thanks. :)

The Haru manga is sooooooooooooo much better than the two OVA's. You really, really should read them first. As for IRC, there are many tutorials. If you manage to get on and into a channel that I'm in, I'd be willing to walk you through it.^^ It looks hard, but its actually not that bad once you figure it out.
