I'm coming for you, Bobby Flay.  
Geez, happy belated New Year.  I've been a bit remiss about posting.  Anyway, today was the first class of the six week cooking course my hubbie gave me for Christmas.  We spent most of the class learning the all important knife skills that you see chefs using on TV.  I had a small amount of pride that my skills were already not too shabby.  We chopped carrots, peppers, onions, and learned how to make garlic paste.  We also de-boned a chicken breast.  The teacher did this just to go over the basics.  He hopes to get us whole chickens later on to really learn how to de-bone.  We made then made chicken fajitas, salsa fresca, and a balsamic vinaigrette.   Delicious!

Next week- soups, stocks, and sauces.  ^__^
