I survived the second blizzpocalypse of 2010
I awoke Friday morning to about 8 inches on the ground and snow falling steadily on and off.  I was pretty much set on not going in to work, but as luck would have it two neighborhood kids knocked on my door at 9:30 (I start work at 11:30) and I paid them $40 to shovel me out.  I realized later that I got ripped off because they only shoveled my driveway and not the sidewalk in front of my house...grrrr.  Lesson learned on that one.  So, I decided to brave the weather and head in to work.  I pack up my son and make the drive to his daycare.  Roads were slick and slushy, but my car handled it all in stride.  Yay for AWD!  I pull into the parking lot at daycare and it is very empty, but the front door is open, so I bring him in.  Upon entering, I'm greeted by the head supervisor who informs me that they are closing in an hour because no one else showed up.  I'm like "great I did all this for nothing."  So, I call my boss who made it into the office and told her that I was literally around the corner and if she wanted me to still come in and send off the daily wire info to the banks I could, I'd just have to bring my kid with me.  She was like sure no problem.  So he ran up and down the aisle playing with a toy truck I thankfully had on my desk while I did 45 minutes of work.  The beauty part of this whole deal is that I will get paid for the full day. :)

Hubbie's plane was slightly delayed that night, but landed safely.  No more trips for him, thank god, because if he did, I was coming with him.  No more of this dealing with 2 feet of snow by myself.  Is it Spring yet?

Oh wow! Sounds like it was awful. But yay for a full day's pay with only 45 minutes of work *grins*

And is your son seriously old enough now to be running up and down the aisle? Man how fast time flies. Wasn't he just born yesterday? *feels very old all the sudden*

Yeah, he turned two in January. Time is flying by so fast. I'm trying to enjoy every minute of it.
