District 9
My dear readers, go and see District 9 as soon as possible.  It was one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

Thank you, goodnight.

Oooh. I was considering going to see it today, but I ended up going home and taking a nap instead. Wrong decision, huh? Is it gorey at all? It's got the R rating, but I didn't see why.

I guess it would depend on your definition of gory. It does get very violent at the end and the alien weapons are very powerful so their effect on the human body was to basically blow it to smithereens. They don't linger on it, but people do explode.

Then there was the part with the fingernails, but I don't want to spoil anything....

I went to see it last night. It was a good movie. But, it was also kinda sad and depressing. I have to wonder if they plan to do a sequel, since it just ends without things really being resolved.

As for the gross factor....yeh, I was grossed out at parts. Exploding heads and all that gore/fluid, I could handle. But, I don't do vomit scenes very well.

They absolutely should NOT do a sequel. I think they would end up ruining it. Its always better to leave the audience guessing and speculating, hoping that Christopher makes good on his promise.

I did spend most of the second half of the movie going "if they kill that little boy alien, I'm walking out." Happy that ended well.

Oh yeah, I'm with you on the little alien boy AND his father. I was going to be so very pissed if either one of them had died. I had also started to wonder WTH happened to the other aliens when the escape was going on. Glad to see what happened there towards the end with that one military guy we all hated.
