One bright spot amongst the dark
The VP of my dept approved me going part-time.  It will mean I won't have as much disposable cash, but it will take some of the pressure off my father in-law.  That is, when this whole thing is over with.  My MIL is being sent for radiation everyday this week.  The doctors are hoping to extend her timeframe since she is so alert.  Not sure how long they're guesstimating they can give her.  This may sound a little harsh, but if its only a month or two, why bother?  She's not in any pain, which is good.

The waiting game continues.

Oh, honey, I'm sorry I only came across all this today, browsing your latest journals. On the one hand, it's good that you could arrange the part-time job.
By experience of accompagning people with a cancer, I can tell that the radiation thing is terrible and can also be really painful, I'm sure your husband's familly will think it over carefully. Now, maybe she needs some more time to say good-bye in spite of the sacrifices.
Even though your husband doesn't show his pain much, I am sure he appreciates you being there for him and knows he can count on you.
I think of you and of your familly. I wish for you to find a way to live through these very sad events as peacefully as possible.
*big hug to you guys*

She was a lung cancer survivor and went through Chemo and radiation 5 years ago. We thought she had it beat, but it came back and is moving so rapidly. I think we're all still in shock over this whole thing to fully deal with it yet.

Simple and sweet. I’m thinking of starting another blog or five pretty soon, and I’ll definitely consider this theme. Keep ‘em coming!
