Its fraud I tell you...fraud!
And no, I'm not speaking of the recent Olympic hijinks.  lolz  Oh, about two years ago, I placed an order from an online clothing company from a discount offer I saw on slickdeals.net.  No problems with the order, everything was fine.  Well, last month I checked my credit card balance online and discovered a recent charge from the company again.  I placed no such order.  I sent an email to the company to no avail and ended up having to dispute it with my credit card.  So, I get my statement in the mail yesterday.  There is the original bad charge, the courtesy credit pending the investigation, and another erronious charge from the same company!  I immediately called the company only to find out that their customer service is non-existant.  Highly suspicious.  I got right on the phone with my credit card co. and told them that this was another invalid charge and to block any further charges from this place.  Holy fuck!  I come to find out later that thousands of people have been receiving these charges.  There is a whole thread dedicated to it on the slickdeals forum.  Classiccloseouts.com  DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!

I'm so afraid of something like that happening to me. And you'd think the credit card company would quickly take care of it since there are numerous complaints of fraudulant charges from this company! I love the convenience of online shopping, but there's a bigger chance of running into this sort of thing. :(

Seems odd that things went fine for the order, then years later this happens. Scary.

Re: Yikes!
I don't know if it was some glitch with their system or what, but everyone was charged the same amount, $69.99. At least my credit card co. is giving me credits. Let them duke it out with this shady company.

Sounds like a former employee stole the credit card numbers from the company or their database was hacked. Man, I hate that happened to you, but I'm glad you caught it! I hope you don't have to pay the credit card anything!

Whether online shopping, or using the credit card at the local restaurant where the waiter/tress has one of those quick card copy machines, if there's a way for someone to try and steal your card, they'll do it.

I would lean more towards hacked because everyone was charged the same amount. And you're right, if people want to steal cc numbers, they will find a way. Its funny being on the other side of the fence. I work for a cc company. lol

Here's a little song especially for YOU, sung by people you don't know. Also not sure who Eugene is, but apparently he's spending time with you on your birthday, unlike these folks. I just love how the older guy in the back looks like he's off his meds and they just woke him up from a nap. ;)

Oh, also if your name's NOT Vicky, just overlook that part. I went back in your posts to verify, but couldn't find it. I did find a lovely post where I stated that I didn't think I could ever get into Naruto. Then a few days later - in the same post - I reply how I'm now on episode 119 of Naruto, lol. Ah, those crazy anime marathon days of yore. Hope you have/had a nice celebration!

Ok, I am NOT 52. lol Do these people do versions for every name or is it some random Vickie?

And I remember those Naruto posts. That was a year ago? It seems like it was longer. I'm not one to talk. I can barely remember things that happened yesterday these days. But thank you for the b-day wishes.^^

Well they got your age wrong but your name right! LOL. I just scoured youtube for a one with that personal touch. Hehehe. I found one for a friend a while ago where a bunch of people in an English pub wish him a happy birthday and hope he'll join them next year, lol. At the end they whisper his name creepily.

Well, rest up tonight since going from your 30's to your 50's can be harsh. And tell Eugene I said "HI!" ;)
