Here is the perfect example of why I'm not home schooling my kid. Sure, they may not win the National Spelling Bee, but at least they'll have some social skills.

In other news:

You're 11 weeks pregnant!  Your baby-to-be is about 50 millimeters crown to rump and weighs about 8 grams (about a quarter of an ounce). The liver, intestines, brain and lungs are beginning to function on their own, and the external genitalia are present but difficult to distinguish.

Rats!  It's still too early to tell.  This whole coming up with a name is much harder than I thought.  Once I know the sex, I can cut the list in half, but its still hard.  I am open to suggestions, so if you've got any, feel free to mention them.   As for me, I feel like I've had a week-long headache.  I was told that it is hormonal and perfectly normal.  Whatever, it sucks!  It's pretty crazy how many changes my body is going through and most of it isn't outwardly physical yet.  Much more to come...

I forgot to mention it, but we finally fired the noob at work last week.  One less headache for me to deal with.  The new person started on Monday and is already picking things up light years faster.  So, work stress should be easing up.  Yay!
Current Mood: blahblah

Those updates make me queasy. It's just so... Well, I'd be a terrible pregnant lady, lol.

Glad your coworker headache is gone! I hope your ongoing headache goes away now. You can't take anything for that, huh? Maybe some juice or food or water would help? I heard drinking plenty of water can stave off some headaches. ;)

Are they a little too...graphic? Ya know, its funny. I used to think I was all tough-as-nails, but since I've been pregnant I've been discovering how much of a wuss I can be. The whole feeling ill constantly thing is quite maddening, but I have to keep a positive outlook on the whole thing. When its all said and done, it will be worth it.

You never know, you just might surprise yourself with how you react when the time comes.

Ah coming up with the name...yes, I remember how very difficult that was. You don't want the child to have problems later in life because of the name, but you also don't want a standard name that 50 kazillion other people have. Below are a list of some names I considered, definitely not all though *grin*. I remember all the body changes too, being exhausted all the time, the gestational diabetes (hope you don't have that cause the 'stick your finger 5 times a day' thing sucks royally).

There's a bunch of sites on the net for helping you pick babynames, some even do it by ethnic group (like Baby Center or BabyNames.com, or syllables, and many give Origins as well as meanings of the names.

Possible Names (boy)
Remy (If I ever have another child, and it's a boy, I want to name him this)

Possible Names (girl)
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 15th, 2007 11:03 pm (UTC)
Remy! LOL! I don't think my husband will go for that one no matter how cool it is. Personally, I've been pulling for Saya if its a girl and he's having none of it. Saya is a pretty name dammit! But we still have time to argue over names. It's funny that you mention Kai since that was Saya's brother's name on Blood+. Another cool name, but hubbie seems to be against unusual names. I plan on nipping that in the bud.

Gestational diabetes...scary. I hope I don't have to deal with that. Thanks for the sites. I'll be digging through them soon enough.

I can't watch that video. it hurts me. it really does.

but saya! we're both naming our first born girls that, right? I don't care if you have a saya too. I just love that name. sniff.

I'm working on breaking him down. He will learn to love the name Saya if I have to beat it into him! Hormone rage!

And seriously, just finish watching the series. You'll be glad you did.

Yes I like Saya too. Aya was on my girl name list, but my hubby also protested. He also protested Remy (which I wanted to name our current child). He's very much in the same mindset as your guy when it comes to names. But, I told him that if we ever have another boy (or girl) we're going with MY choice dammit!

That's right! You tell him! We demand equal opportunity on the whole naming business.

And I've always wondered (and am too lazy to look it up) but is Remy short for anything, like Remington, or is that the actual name?
Jukeboxjukebox_csi on June 22nd, 2007 12:52 am (UTC)
Nope, not short for anything. In the Marvel universe, his name is Remy Etienne LeBeau, though I'm thinking Etienne might be a fanfiction name.

There's been some fanfiction authors that tried to make the name a short for Remington or Remielle (sp?).
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 22nd, 2007 03:57 am (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Etienne is a fannish invention. I have a Marvel released X-Men encyclopedia...somewhere and I believe there is no mention of him having a middle name.

wow these updates are so poeatical (I remember the tadpole from the previous one XD)
Don't you want to keep the sex of the baby a surprise 'till the end? I've got tones of name ideas, but i'm afraid they'd sound terribly french (though you seem to like Remy and that's a rather french sounding one ^^).
Good luck with the headache and cheers about your new employee ^^
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 17th, 2007 10:36 pm (UTC)
Nah, I want to know. It makes things much easier and when I have a baby shower, people can buy things geared more towards a boy or a girl.

And don't worry about the names sounding too French, suggest them^^ You never know.
rookafrk on June 19th, 2007 10:11 am (UTC)
to answer one of your questions above, I don't exactly know about Remy, but in french Rémi is a name of its own. Still quite fashionable actually, lot's of Rémis in their 20s around here ^^
And yeah baby shower, i first discovered it in a Sex and the City ep XD We don't have that here, people go visit the mum and baby in the maternity and we make a big party when the baby is baptisted (good ol'catholic traditions).
So then my litte list would be:
Gwennaël (boy) or Gwennaëlle (girl), Matyàs (that one's hungarian) or Mateo is cute too, Zoé, Eloïse, Yann, Bastien, Estelle...
God I have too many to say XD
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 21st, 2007 09:49 pm (UTC)
Bastien, I kind of like. Unfortunately, my last name also begins with a B and alliteration with names is usually a bad thing. Thanks for the suggestions^^
