Anime squee post....aka what the kat is wasting her time with now
And here is the list, in no particular order.

Bleach- I see dead people.  I'm not going to bother to go into a synopsis on this one.  If you're not watching it already you should be for there are bishies-a-plenty in this one.  Not to mention awesome action and angst.  Oh the pairings...the pairings.  So much yaoi it boggles the mind.  I'm pretty sure 80% of my anime watching has to do with the bish factor.  Low bish factor means it better have the greatest plot ever or chances are I'm not going to bother.  How's that for shallow?  *sigh*  One day I'll get around to that Chad x Ishida story.

Naruto- I want to eat ramen after every episode.  Again, if you're not watching you should be.  I am loving Shippuden so far.  After 30 episodes of filler, its a breath of fresh air.  Oh, Sasuke you ansgty little bishie.  I am also extremely happy that they have ceased turning Sakura into a total wuss.  She rocks now.  And Gaara, my sweet, dysfunctional Gaara....

D. Gray-man- Fullmetal Alchemist- light.  I'm still amazed by how much I enjoy this show.  After the first episode I thought I would find Allen annoying, but he's so sweet and likable.  I absolutely adore Lavi, he is so much fun.  A plot bunny bit the other night for a Lavi x Kanda story.  I'm going hold off on that one until I see more of the series...or maybe not.  Who knows?  But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Death Note- Shinigamis love apples.  Seriously one of the best, most engaging animes I've watched.  All the complex plot twists and such will leave you breathless at times.  Light is so evil, but you love him anyway.  Watch it!

Gintama- Crack-a-lackin good times.  There comes a time when you need a break from the angst and this is the perfect show for that.  Always wacky and fun.  I love the Shinsengumi.  They are the best.

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto-  The longest title evar!  I've mentioned my samurai addiction before, right?  This is an awesome historical drama with just the right amount of the supernatural.  Throw in one hottie, brooding samurai and we have gold!

Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi- There is gender-bending!  Despite that, I think I might be bailing on this one.  I've watched ten episodes so far and I'm not feeling it anymore.  It's not completely boring, but it does get a little draggy at times.  Even my samurai love can't keep my attention.  You have my permission to pass on this one if you so wish.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou- Teens with powers battle demons.  Yes, I seem to have started a trend with finding animes with the longest names.  This one I've been enjoying immensely.  The art is beautiful and the story is slowly unfolding itself in its own weird way.   I love spell battles and all that shit.  Definitely worth a look.

Radeen- Giant robots battle...again?  This one is new and I've only watched the first 2 eps.  I haven't watched a mecha in a while so I decided to give it a look.  The story is rather typical- teen's father was an archaeologist who disappears, son finds mysterious bracelet artifact in dad's things, strange meteor/alien mecha falls from sky, bracelet turns teen into mecha pilot, and the two mechas battle.  I would have provided screencaps, but the files kept crashing my VLC player.  *shrugs*   I'll let you know about this one.

Darker Than Black- Sociopath with super powers?  This one is also brand new and I've only seen the first two eps, but I have screen caps!  The story, from what I can gather so far, involves people with powers called Contractors.  They are called Contractors because they usually have to perform some type of action every time they use their powers as payment of sorts.  They're fulfilling a "contract."  Ten years prior a mysterious wall, called Hells Gate appeared around the city and since then, people have been developing powers.  Our main character, Li is a Contrator hunter, but is a Contractor himself.  When we first meet him, he is the bad-ass masked hunter seen here.

We then see him again in civies, moving into an apartment.  He was apparently sent there to infiltrate and find this young women who had information on the gate.  Now, the first time I watched ep 1, I thought that Li was a split-personality.  He switched between nice and friendly with a sweet type of almost-innocence...

To dark, calculating, evilness with surprising ease.

His teammates (a young girl who can spy on people using water, a fat older man that I don't know what  he does, and a talking cat.  Now, the fat guy might be the cat.  I'm not really sure.) referred to his at one point as a shinigami.  And another tells him he was suited for getting close to that women and playing nicey-nice because he "has no conscience."  So, I don't think he's a split.  I think he's a ruthless, empty soul.  Now, herein lies the appeal of the show to me.  Since anime is formulaic, we all know that there is humanity left inside him.  As the show progresses, we'll get to see him grow.  I was immediately hooked by this one, so I encourage everyone out there to check it out.  It's also put out by Bones Studio, so you know it's going to be a walk on the darker side of life.

So, there you go...the illustrious list of 10.  Thoughts?

5 I've watched, 5 I haven't seen.

The Bleach episodes are just flying by. I can't believe how fast they're catching up to the manga. I wouldn't mind a few filler scenes/episodes just to slow the pace a little. I do like the new opening scenes. They're Orihime-centric, I guess, but more relevant to the show. (Unlike that tease of Hitsugaya/Matsumoto/Gin I soooooo wanted to happen from the last opening.)

I'm loving Shippuden as well, rekindles my love for Naruto in general.

D. Gray-man- Fullmetal Alchemist- light. I love that description. It really reminds me of Fullmetal, which is why I fell for it right away. I need to get back to it eventually.

That Tokyo Majin sounds interesting. And Darker than Black sounds promising.

Well, if you need a replacement for Tenpou, I just watched the first episode of Claymore, which was pretty good, although nothing really new. Beasts known as "youma" attack and devour humans, then disguise themselves as a human to stay among their prey. To weed out these predators, people often hire "Claymore" - female sword-wielding warriors with silver eyes who can sense the youma among humans - because they themselves are part youma. Slightly similar to Blood+ and D. Gray-man perhaps, but this all takes place in ancient times.

Oddly enough, I entertained the notion of downloading the first episode of Claymore and decided not to because- you guessed it- low bish factor. If after a few eps, you are still watching, let me know.

Definitely check out Tokyo Majin and Darker. I think you'll enjoy them.

I'm about to watch Bleach 122! I can't wait to see some Quincy interaction^^

yay naruto and bleach are big hits ^^ Write that Ishida/Chad story, sounds cool XD As for Naruto, I can't resist the three of the sand - all three of them - and the latest Shipuuden eps were very good.

Now, you say Rabi, I adore him too XD Maybe it's just because i love crack pairings, but I have a weird plot bunny for a Rabi/Krory fic. Krory's kinda goofy and cute. So yay, yesterday's ep made me happy.

I was so surprised in L's last episode in Death Note, with all that towel scene O_o That was good, it did add emotion to L's death and ambiguity to Raito's character.

I've watched the two first eps of Darker than Black and i'm maybe not as enthralled as you. Since it was from Bones, i expected some cool character design (like in Wolf's Rain) but i don't like this one that much. The animation is great though and the music too, so I'll give it another chance watching the next eps. On the goofy side I did enjoy the way we always saw the two cops arriving a tad bit too late each time. I always like the same kind of characters =_=

Since I love samurai stories, i'll have to give a try to BKI (lazy to write it all)^^

The Death Note rain and subsequent drying scene will go down in yaoi fanservice history. Everyone I know watching the series was like O_o OMFG that is so hawt. *sigh* I'm going to miss L.

And I thought the character designs in DTB were quite similar to Wolf's Rain. *shrugs* Like I said above, what attracts me are the the complexities of the main character. I'm going to enjoy figuring him out. The scene where he's in the restaurant with the girl and his teammate tells him that he has no conscious for being able to play the girl like that, I loved that moment. It showed just how easy it is for him to lie and deceive. Finding out why is what will keep me watching^^
