I love samurais
I really do.  That's why I'm going to pimp my latest anime.  If you like samurais, period dramas with just a hint of the supernatural, and beautiful animation, then check out Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto.  This has to be the longest title in anime history, so for future reference I'll be referring to it as Bakumatsu.

Here is the official synopsis:

The end of the Edo era marked the last time men would live as samurai and fight entrusting their lives and beliefs to the sword. The peace of the Tokugawa Shogunate begins to crumble with the arrival of Western influence. Amidst this upheaval, the youth of the nation seek a new era, but something else will bring turmoil and chaos. It is called Hasha no Kubi; the Head of the Conqueror. It is said that he who can obtain the Head shall rule over the whole country. However, another shadow being called “Eternal Assassin” is destined to oppose Hasha no Kubi. These two beings have been in eternal conflict, affecting the course of history from the shadows, influencing those who craved power. Some want it for their own, some want it for revenge, and some want it to fulfill their own ideals…
The wills of men intersect over the Hasha no Kubi. They combine and move together like complicated gear wheels of an engine pushing events towards the future.

And because there has to be an angsty hottie for me to latch on to.  I give you our main character, Youjiro Akidzuki.

He is somehow connected with this whole "Head of the Conquerer" thing.  His eyes glow bright blue whenever the head activates...or something.  The first episode was vague.  I'm sure more will be revealed as we go.

It's definitely worth a look.  I'm very excited about this one and look forward to future episodes.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through the Crimson Spell story.  You guys are probably going to read it and wonder why it was giving me so much trouble.  I'm asking myself the same thing.  But it's almost done and then I can finally start work on the long awaited next chapter to "P&C."  It's been almost a year since I last updated O_o  Eek!  And since I have no idea what the deal is with the Club Sion ficathon, I'm going to post my Viewfinder story here tomorrow so all you who are not a member can finally read it.

Here it is...

I like the artwork of that BKI. And I do enjoy a good sword-weilding anime! I'll wait for more episodes to build up and see how your reviews go, lol.

I want to check out that VF fic. And more P&C would be wonderful - very anxious to find out what happens next in that. :)

The only thing that could possibly ruin it for me is for it to get WTFy. I don't see that happening. Everything about this one reeks of quality. You must master the torrents! They are your gateway to the awesome anime.

I can't believe its been almost a year for P&C...I'm such a bad writer. I've been neglecting my boys.

PS- nice Crimson Spell icon. Hal and Val are my next favorite pair...after Asami and Takaba, of course^^
