Ugh....
This has been the week from hell so far at work. I came back from vacation to find out that in addition to the 195 emails, my other co-worker (who I am backup for) was going to be out this entire week. So, I get to do his work and all of my work. Plus, no one did parts of my work while I was away and that is now all backed up. ARGH!!!!

My brain has become something resembling cottage cheese. Writing? Pfff...what's that? I'm lucky I remember what my middle name is at the moment let alone be creative. And it's pissing me off! I really, really need to finish the bunny porn so that I can get back to P&C and Light...not to mention come up with something for Shenlong's contest(which I came in 2nd last year^^) And I would like to finish Uni this summer too. *sigh* This is just depressing me further.

My copy of Brother arrived in the mail today. It was a pleasant surprise to have hawt brotherly love waiting for me when I got home so I guess it wasn't all bad. This is also the first manga I've ever received that had a jacket like a hard-covered book. Weird, but I'm not complaining when there are bishies on the cover.^___^

I think that was actually the first yaoi I read! Oh man, I do not envy your workload! I was really scrambling after taking Monday off. I really can't imagine taking a whole week off and coming back to work. Then again, I run a whole warehouse and sales office singlehandedly, so basically headquarters is screwed - and so am I - every time I take time off. I hope the next two days go by in a flash and your pile of stuff is whittled down soon! At least enough for the creativity to return.

I'm plotting my revenge on my co-worker. I've already done a few little things that I'm sure will annoy him when he comes back on monday. Just my way of saying thanks for shafting me after a week-long vacation. Mwahahahaha.

That sucks that you have no one to do your work when you're off, but I guess it gives you some job security^^

Hmm...
Job security vs ENJOYING time off... I'm leaning towards a guiltless vacation these days! Sorry yours couldn't be quite so carefree, especially when there were people there who SHOULD HAVE covered things for you. Sounds like someone was taking an in-house vacation while you were gone.

Re: Hmm...
Well, the vacation was carefree. It's the return that wasn't. But those slackers will get their...oh, yes...they will.

I hope you don't mind me popping by your LJ ^^;! I'm sorry that work has been so shitty for you, I hope that you have an understanding boss *hugs*!

Did you know that Deb has her own LJ? It's gw_shenlong, if you are interested.

All of my DMP manga books are like that; I like them, kinda makes you feel like you are getting more value for money ^_~!

Thanks, I don't mind^^

Brother was the first DMP release that I purchased, so I was unfamiliar with the jackets, but I do like it. I'm just starting to get around to actually buying the manga that I love so much. The beauty part of IRC and the scantilation groups are that you get manga long before it's released in the US (I read Brother well over a year ago) and it's all free. Can't beat that! The projects are dropped once a manga becomes licensed...sometimes. I'm on the staff of the scan group Fushichou as a proofreader. As for IRC, it looks scary, but it's really not. There are good tutorials out there if you are interested. That's the best place to go for more yaoi then you can shake a fist at ^__^

*nods* Yes, I read a lot of scanlations. My favourite is Haru wo Daiteita ^_^! And scanlations are very useful because, like watching fansubs, it is nice to know that you like a story before you actually buy the book (or DVD). But I'm afraid that scanlations can't replace physically holding a book in your hand for me, so needless to say, I buy a lot of manga, lol!

I have been meaning to get round to trying IRC but I haven't really had a burning need as yet. Like I said, I find pretty much everything I want with BT or from my friends ^_^!

I love Haru! That was one of the first yaoi mangas that I cut my teeth on way back when. That and Love Mode, which is another one of my favorites^^ And I completely agree with you, scantilations let you decided whether or not it's worth your $10 to actually hold the book in your hand. I'm very selective with what I buy, but my downloads are insane. I have something like 70 gigs of yaoi manga, Crazy, right? ;P

Trust me, once you get the hang of IRC, you'll be downloading like a mad person.

*hee* Me too! So I'm desperately sad that BeBeautiful are in trouble, I was enjoying so much buying Embracing Love. Plus I also wanted to get The Sound of his Voice, I love that too!

Wow! It's a bit like my fansub collection, I have enough to keep me going for years, I think ^_^!

once you get the hang of IRC, you'll be downloading like a mad person

You are probably right *g*! Will you hold my hand when I decide to give it a go *puppy dog eyes*?
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 17th, 2006 02:14 pm (UTC)
Ah, Boku no Koe I liked that one too. Anything by Youka Nitta is awesome even if she recycles names and her characters tend to all look alike sometimes...it's all good.^^

Heh...I should also mention that my fansub collection is around the 70 gig mark too. See? We're both insane fans^^

Sure, I'll help you out with IRC ^__^

*laughs* You have hit the nail on the head! Sometimes I have to remind myself what manga I am reading by her but I love her stuff all the same ^_~!

We're both insane fans^^

We really are ^___________^!

Sure, I'll help you out with IRC ^__^

You are a star! Thank you so much in advance. I have really enjoyed talking to you, hun ^_~!

It may be a while ^^;! But if you want to do the whole 'LJ friending' thing in the meantime, just let me know ^_~!

Question about Loveless
I think there's only one manga volume out in English, right? How long is the manga series? And is it still being published in Japan, or is the series complete? I've seen the first 3 epiodes of the anime, and I'm intrigued, but if it really doesn't go anywhere... (And where do I WANT it to go between a university student and a 6th grader?! Oh well. I can't help it!) Anyway, how far into the series have you read?
evilkat_meow: ritsuka-heyevilkat_meow on June 16th, 2006 10:38 pm (UTC)
Re: Question about Loveless
You know, I'm not sure how many volumes there are. I'm almost positive that it is complete in Japan, but don't hold me to it. The scantilation group, Obsession is currently working on it and they are up to Vol. 5 chapter 2. The anime and manga differ slightly in some respects, but they are both very enjoyable. The relationship between Soubi and Ritsuka is very compelling in many ways...and yes, THAT way too, but it's handled very carefully. This isn't a shota manga ;P Catboys rule!
Fran: Uke!Kyou (Fruits Basket)franwi on June 16th, 2006 10:55 pm (UTC)
LOL - I almost wish it was shota manga - BAD ME! But I love the Ritsuka angst and the way Soubi "belongs to him." It's ripe with implied naughtiness! But it's good that they don't cross that line. I do wonder how it ends. I already want to know! ;)
evilkat_meow: Soubi- intense sexyevilkat_meow on June 16th, 2006 11:04 pm (UTC)
You and me both. I want it to end with Soubi taking Ritsuka's ears, but I'm guessing that will only happen in my dirty mind. ;P But yes, the angst is nummy and the characters are wonderful. I love Yayoi...poor little guy.^^ He's works well as the plucky comic relief. Him and Kio because Soubi is so clueless sometimes.
Franfranwi on June 16th, 2006 11:16 pm (UTC)
I feel sorry for Yayoi so far. And you know I'd love it to end like that - even if it's just... implied. Now there's nothing implied with Kio - he's definitely naughty, right? He's the artsy one working with Soubi? My, my... I'll have to go searching for fic sometime. Unless you have any recommendations already!
evilkat_meowevilkat_meow on June 17th, 2006 12:16 am (UTC)
Yes, that's Kio. I do have fics I could rec for you some time, but not at the moment. I'll get back to you on that^^
