The first 6 months
Yup, the little Buddha was officially six months old yesterday.  Can you believe it?  I can't.  I sped by like a bullet train.

It is amazing how fast he is growing and learning new things.  It literally happens overnight.  One day he'll just start doing something new and we'll be left scratching our heads saying, "he didn't do that yesterday."   He can sit up almost completely unassisted and we've started feeding him in his highchair like a big boy.  He's starting to say more complex words like da da and baa baa.  He's actually started referring to his bottle as "baa baa."  And it might be wishful thinking, but he might also be saying "Elmo."  He loves Elmo...all babies do apparently.  I've tried to understand the appeal and the only thing I can come up with is his high-pitched voice.  I can handle Sesame Street.  Barney is outlawed though.  But enough of this blather, on to the pics!

Here he is with his best bud, Darian.  He is the only one of my cats that actually takes an interest in the baby.  The other two want nothing to do with him.  Its sad because the baby is fascinated by them.

Ha!  I laugh everytime I see this pic.  I put him down for a nap and he fell asleep mid-turn, face plastered against his crib bumper.  I snapped this pic before I "rescued" him.  lol

Here he is playing in the bouncer thingy that took me four hours to put together.  See all that stuff on the tray?  I had to snap all of that into the base and it was the hardest, most unruly plastic I've ever dealt with.

Here is a group shot of him hanging with his other buds, Elmo and Cookie Monster.  You have to see the huge smile he gets whenever he sees the dolls.  It makes you wonder if he thinks that they jumped off the TV or something.  Look at that belly!  This is what a 20+ pound 6 month old looks like.

Its all good though.  While this is the toughest, most exhausting thing I've ever done, its also the most rewarding.  So when I promise chapters and don't deliver, this is the reason why.

I just love cats who don't mind being poked, prodded, and drooled on. Or catboys, for that matter. But anyway...

Aw, he's so cute! But holy man, that belly!! Time for baby's first gym membership? :D

That bouncy contraption is adorable! He looks so happy in it, too. So worth the hours of slaving over it, right?

If only I could have a catboy of my own...

Not only is he rotund, he's long. He's going to be tall. I could potentially have an NFL linebacker or an NBA star here. People keep telling me that when he starts walking he'll slim down and grow into his pudge. I guess we'll see.

And the bouncy thing was well worth every penny and hour of torture I put into it. He loves it.

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!!!!!!!!

My cats want nothing to do with my boy since day 1 either, and it's been 3 1/2 years now, lol. At least you have one that will interact with him.

It's funny about the Elmo. I guess my little Peanut is an exception, because Elmo terrified him. Anytime that red, furry stuffed toy came near, he'd start screaming bloody murder. And forget about pulling the string to have it make some comment in that 'Elmo voice'. *laughs* Instead, we get to enjoy Thomas the train over and over and over until I'm ready to gauge my eyes out!

Those are precious pics. Before you know it, he's gonna be fully mobile. :D

Bob the Builder is the next phase...or so I hear. Just please tell me your son doesn't like Barney. No one should have to suffer that insanity.

No, thankfully, he never really got into Barney \(^O^)/ Though, we do know the 'I love you, you love me, we're a happy family' song. He does like Bob, but his passion is Thomas the train. I think it started when he was around 2. Your little fella might like that, too. And talk about a ginormous franchise!

oh my! He is just too cute for words XD
I would love to play with his bouncer thing too o*3*o
Just love how benevolent your cat is !

I'm sure the friendship with the cat won't last much longer. The first time the baby yanks his tail or grabs his ears will put an end to that. But I'll enjoy the cuteness while it lasts.^^
