People suck!
About a week and a half ago I get an invitation in the mail to a "baby safety seminar."  It was to go into all the latest recalls, what products are safe, child-proofing your house, and all that good stuff.  It was provided by some council from child safety.  It all sounded legit.  Well, what it ended up being was basically a 2 hour time-share-like scam of sorts.  The guy running the show was obviously a representative from Babee-Tenda.  We were shown some of the more common brands of cribs, car seats, and high chairs...naturally they weren't as safe as the Babee Tenda products.  Now, Babee Tenda has been around for something like 80 years.  Heck, I even had the feeding chair when I was a kid...I remember it, and the 5-in-1 crib that they make is actually quite nice and is something I will definitely look into.  But the fact that me and a dozen or so other couples got suckered into this whole sales pitch left a bad taste in my mouth.  We refused the discount being offered at this thing on principle.  It really devalued all the other information he gave us because it now seems like it was all geared to make his products look better.  Way to prey on people's fears...especially new parents like us that have no clue what to expect.   The best part was the fact that none of the other parents-to-be fell for his pitch either and he made zero sales.  Boy, was he pissed.  Serves them right...scam artists.

Man, what a shit thing to pull on expecting parents. At least if he were honest from the start and stated that this was sponsored by the company, people might have been more accepting of his sales pitch. It's great that you're looking for courses and trying to stay informed, it's too bad there are things like that "seminar" out there too.

It was way poor. If we knew going in that it was sponsored by the Babee Tenda company, it would have made it seem 100 times less shady. I'm going to email the company and tell them that they are losing business this way.
