Noah, I survived the floods!
Long Island and the five burroughs were hit with one helluva storm yesterday morning, resulting in some major flooding all over.  I arrived at work literally seconds before the deluge started.  My husband, however, was stuck in traffic for 3 hours trying to get into work.  2007 is the year of the floods.  They seems to be happening all over the country right now.

While my energy level seems to be on the rise, my motivation is still hibernating.  I'll sit here on the computer knowing I should update my journal more with my *cough* interesting life bits, but I can't seem to gather the willpower to actually type something.  It's the problem I'm facing with the dirty boy porn I want to write for that contest.  bleh....

You are now 16 weeks pregnant!

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOU
For some women, nasal congestion and nosebleeds are an annoying -- and, come to think of it, weird -- side effect of pregnancy. Your changing hormone levels, increased blood volume and softening tissues cause the mucous membranes in your nose to swell. It's also possible that you have a vitamin-C deficiency, since this can cause nosebleeds, so eating more vitamin C-rich foods may help. Do not use nose drops, other than saline, unless recommended by your health-care provider.

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY
Weighing in at all of 3 ounces, your little one is now 12 centimeters long. He's holding his head high and moving his limbs with purpose -- maybe even sucking his teeny little thumb (okay, it's just a reflex, but it's still cool). The eyes have moved closer together so that they face forward, and the baby now begins to blink. He or she might even be winking at you: "Hey Mom, I'm chilling out in here! You should relax, too!"

I think I'm beginning to feel the little alien move around.  People tell me that at this stage it feels like a little flutter or gas bubbles and I have had times like that.  It's exciting and weird that there's something moving around in there.

Re: So I guess your fingers swelled up
No, my fingers are fine^^ And you must be calling when I'm on lunch break since that's the only time I leave my desk...except for the occasional bathroom break. To be on the safe side, don't call between 1:30 and 2:30 EST and you should get me.
